Due Process in Competition Law Enforcement
A dialogue on best practices between agencies and business
ICC Roundtable, Istanbul on 30 April 2010
|
This roundtable provided the opportunity for a dialogue between competition agencies and business on best practices in competition law, particularly from the angle of due process. This discussion built on the work already begun in the OECD and APEC on the subject, and explored this further from both agency and business perspectives.
- How far could international best practices go, given the diversity of national regimes?
- What are the areas in which common principles can be agreed?
Senior officials from competition agencies from different jurisdictions debated with the private sector experts, using ICC’s “Recommended Framework for International Best Practices in Competition Law Enforcement Proceedings” as a springboard for discussion.
